The NAACP North San Diego County (NAACP NSDC) Branch 1086 has long championed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream—bringing our community together in celebration, reflection, and service. Since 1989 Branch 1086 has proudly fostered an environment that honors Dr. King’s life, legacy, and unifying message.
Our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. events continue to bring together hundreds of San Diego County leaders, and residents who believe in and uphold the principles Dr. King so passionately advocated. The theme for 2026 is, “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy,” affirming our ongoing commitment to advancing equity, civic engagement, and community empowerment.
The 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Prayer Breakfast will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the El Corazon Senior Center located at 3302 Senior Center Drive, Oceanside. During the event, the City of Oceanside will present its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award, recognizing exemplary local service and leadership.
