On November 1st at 4 pm, representatives from Congressman Mike Levin’s Office (Kyle Krahel-Frolander)and Senator Catherine Blakespears’ Office (Fernando Hernandez) met in our Downtown, Paseo Santa Fe corridor in Vista to present Councilmember Joe Green with Proclamations. Proclaiming November 2, 2024 as “Joe Green Day” in the 38th Senate District in the State of California. He was commended for his service on the Vista City Council for the last eight years, as well as 10+ years serving this community as a volunteer. Joe’s wife Jennifer, daughter Elena, son Joe, granddaughters Blair and Callah, In-Laws Julio and Racheal Villa, as well as his Mom and Dad John and Rhonda Frolander, were all in attendance.
Photos were taken with our iconic Vista sign in the background. One of Joe’s goals when elected was to change the sign marquee monuments in downtown, getting rid of the one “humming bird w/poop emoji 💩” and bringing ‘Vista’, the book end monument signs proudly displaying the city name residents can be proud of. Joe was also recognized for his efforts in bringing legal retail cannabis to Vista which has been a very successful industry adding close to 7 Million dollars in tax revenue. Joe and His council have implemented policies that will give close to 1 Million dollars to Vista students in scholarships for sports, arts, music, and education in perpetuity. In addition to it being “Joe Green Day” on 11/2/2024, Councilmember Green will also be celebrating his 25th birthday for the 20th or so time. Happy Birthday Joe and thanks for your service to the City of Vista and our community.
