50 Flags Placed On Main Street for Memorial Day

Vista, California
On Memorial Day six years ago, in 2014, American flags appeared on Main Street in Historic Downtown Vista. That tradition continues and today the North San Diego Young Marines once again placed 50 American flags along Main Street. The tradition began when Sgt. Major Jay Parker, USMC Retired and his wife Ann Pion Parker, wanted to see the U.S. flags displayed along both sides of the street on major Holidays. This morning, May 25, 2020, the North County Daily Star was on hand to witness the Young Marines as they installed the flags along Main Street. Please enjoy the VIDEO.

The mission of the North San Diego Young Marines is to positively impact America’s future by providing quality youth development programs for boys and girls that nurtures and develops its members into responsible citizens who enjoy and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
