Continuing with its long-standing tradition of promoting gardening, sustainability and community connection, the Carlsbad City Council will join community gardeners on Monday – National Gardening Day – to celebrate the opening of the Stagecoach Park Community Garden.
This is the city’s fourth community garden and first in south Carlsbad. It features 35 raised planting beds designed to conserve water and support healthy plant growth.
The City of Carlsbad is proud to celebrate the completion of its newest community garden at Stagecoach Park. As part of the city’s Parks & Recreation Master Plan, residents shared feedback about what they wanted to see more of in the city. Among the top priorities was more community gardens, to grow food and connect with neighbors. The city saw an opportunity to address that at Stagecoach Park, converting a section of the park previously used as a maintenance yard, with storage for landscaping equipment, into a place for connection and sustainability.
