Oceanside, CA – May 7, 2025 – Get ready for a vibrant celebration of community and national pride! MainStreet Oceanside is thrilled to announce the return of the annual Oceanside Independence Parade on Saturday, June 28, 2025, promising a fun-filled day for the whole family. This year’s theme, “Stars and Stripes by the Sea,” beautifully blends Oceanside’s deep connection to the Pacific with our nation’s cherished values.
The parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. from the intersection of North Coast Highway and Wisconsin Avenue, proceeding north along historic Coast Highway to Civic Center Drive. Leading the procession will be the esteemed US Marine Corps and Naval Bands, setting a patriotic tone for the over 100 diverse entries. Spectators can look forward to seeing Hometown Heroes, military groups, elected officials, dedicated non-profit and community organizations, enthusiastic local businesses, spirited schools, vital public service organizations, and classic car clubs, all showcasing their unique displays, floats, music, and entertainment.
For over a century, since 1892, this beloved tradition has drawn thousands of spectators to historic Highway 101. This year, numerous local businesses will be opening their doors, offering special deals and activities, inviting everyone to enjoy a full day of festivities in downtown Oceanside.
“The Oceanside Independence Parade holds a truly special place in our community,” said Chris Gow, 25 year parade volunteer. “It beautifully embodies the spirit of our local community, bringing people together to celebrate our shared pride and history.”
