Criminal Justice Class at Charter High School Presented Check

Each year, former Escondido PD Lt Owens’ Criminal Justice Class at Charter High School chooses the family of a fallen officer to fundraise for. This year, they chose Officer Laura. Earlier this month, they held a small ceremony and presented Laura’s family with a check for $2,000. The funds were raised through selling t-shirts and holding a bake sale. The group also presented Officer Laura’s mom with a beautiful shadow box with Laura’s image for Mother’s Day.
