On Friday, July 25, 2025, at approximately 3:48 P.M. deputies with the Vista Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a collision involving a solo vehicle that occurred in the 700 block of Shadowridge Drive, in the City of Vista.
The 23 year-old driver, and solo occupant, was driving eastbound in their sedan when they entered the center median and collided with a tree. The driver was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they tragically succumbed to their injuries. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the collision.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Vista Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
It is unknown if the use of alcohol or drugs was a factor in this ongoing investigation.
