Call for volunteers!
The City of Escondido’s Environmental Programs Division is thrilled to participate in I Love A Clean San Diego’s Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20, 2025! Join us in diverting litter and debris from Reidy Creek from 9 to 12 p.m.
With 100+ sites across the region, Creek to Bay is San Diego’s one of the region’s largest single-day cleanups. Escondido’s Reidy Creek site falls in the Carlsbad Watershed, meaning volunteers can affect change all the way to the San Elijo Lagoon and Pacific Ocean from here in Escondido. Learn more about our region’s watersheds here.
Escondido’s Reidy Creek site has a high volume of litter as a result of the unhoused individuals in the area. It is not deemed safe for young children due to the type of debris as well as its proximity to the street. This also means that your support at this site can have a BIG impact on the environmental health of the local area and downstream!
