Emerging from the haze of Covid, the inaugural Dragonfly Music & Hiking Festival presented by the Six String Society took flight in Sedona, Arizona in 2021. What a glorious feeling it was to fly free once again! Over 350+ people took part in this exciting new festival with over 150 people making the trip from San Diego alone. For 2 years, our mantra was “Hike by Day, Music by night” and boy did we have a great time during those first two festivals! From the onset, this event was going to be special. It became an international gathering of some of the finest performers in the world all coming together in this magical place. Sedona was truly awe-inspiring! However, the broader vision was for it to never be at the same location with a set date each year. The plan was always for the Dragonfly Festival to fly in a new direction to share its joy & energy.
For over 3 years, the Dragonfly rested patiently until the perfect scenario came together recently. With great joy and enthusiasm, we’re delighted to announce the 2025 Dragonfly Music Festival will reemerge on Saturday, October 4th on the beautiful grounds at the TERi Campus of Life in San Marcos, California. A truly magical place on over 20 acres surrounded by the beautiful hills of north county San Diego.
This one-day, outdoor, festival will feature 7 of San Diego’s most diverse musical groups bringing their individuality and personalities to the gathering. Featuring music from West Africa, to Latin/Cumbia, Celtic, rockabilly, blues, soul, to Rock & Roll. Get ready to Dance! There’s literally something for everyone with the common thread being the love of music & community. The Dragonfly festival has always been for the people and will always remain with the people! In addition to the music, the spirit of the festival fosters an environment of unity & community where diversity is not only expected but embraced.
To be sure, there will be excellent food (vegan too!) & beverages choices along with exciting clothing, jewelry, art, & specialty item vendors.
The gates will open at noon with the music culminating about dusk. What happens in-between is an open invitation to Escape the Ordinary. Everyone (all ages) is welcome! So grab your wings and make plans to join us at this year’s festival.
