OCEANSIDE, CA — On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 9:46 a.m., Oceanside Police Department officers responded to a report of suicidal threats involving an adult male who was reportedly threatening to jump from a building.
Officers were advised that the individual was walking in the area of North Coast Highway and Pier View Way before entering a multi-story parking structure in the 300 block of North Cleveland Street.
Officers arrived at the top level of the parking structure; however, before officers were able to safely intervene, the individual jumped from the fourth story to the ground below. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until Carlsbad Fire Department personnel arrived and assumed medical care. Despite these efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. The individual’s identity will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
