About Kiwanis Escondido Charity Fishing Derby
It is a family-friendly event attended by more than 2,000 people every year. All proceeds from the event go towards supporting school children of Escondido, most of whom come from low-income families. Kiwanis Escondido is a 100-year old organization whose volunteers serve the local community through school leadership clubs and story-reading sessions (Website: https://kce-hv.org/).
Event Date: April 18 and April 19, 2026, starting at 6AM everyday
Location: Dixon Lake, Escondido
Highlights:
Free Kiddie Pond – Every year, more than 300 kids catch their first fish at the Escondido Charity Fishing Derby. They are guided by senior anglers and they are guaranteed to catch a fish.
Dixon lake newly stocked with 4500 lbs of Rainbow Trout, just before the event
Prizes for catching the biggest fish for adults and juniors
