American Airlines Adds More Flights at McClellan-Palomar Airport

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a new lease agreement with American Airlines on Wednesday to expand commercial service at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad.

It’s a move Director of Airports Jamie Abbott said will generate more than $1.1 million per year, while increasing flight activity in North County. The agreement allows American Airlines to increase its operations from four daily flights to eight, with all flights connecting passengers to the airline’s hub at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix. The new flights began on Friday.

The new lease replaces a prior two-year agreement and establishes a three-year term with two one-year options, Abbott said. Passengers will continue…..
