VISTA — A revolving hub for gamers has sprung up and is steadily growing across North County.
North County Gamers was formed in the aftermath of the pandemic as a way to connect people through video games, according to the group’s founder, Chris. He declined to give his last name.
The genesis of North County Gamers was to connect people who love gaming and to promote more in-person interactions rather than being tucked away at home playing online.
During the pandemic, Chris and his friends would gather over Zoom for game nights. Once lockdowns were lifted, the game nights disappeared, he said. Then, he thought, it would be fun to bring game nights into the real world and partner with local businesses for a more formal event.
