The City of San Marcos announced that the Woodland Park Pool will reopen for the summer season on Monday, June 15, following a five-month renovation project that modernized the nearly 50-year-old facility. Renovations included replastering all three pools, installing new tile finishes, improving accessibility, replacing the pool lift, and resurfacing the pool deck. The work was funded through Measure Q, the city’s local sales tax measure for infrastructure and community improvements.

There will be a reopening Poolside ribbon cutting on Monday, June 15, from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Rebecca Jones, San Marcos Mayor, and the council will attend. The public is welcome.

The pool at Woodland Park first opened in 1978 and is one of San Marcos’ most popular summer recreation facilities. City officials say the upgrades will improve safety, accessibility, and the overall visitor experience while extending the facility’s lifespan.

Beginning June 15, recreational swim hours at Woodland Park Pool will be:

Monday through Thursday: Noon to 4 p.m.
Friday through Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.

The facility features a recreation pool, slides, splash areas, and a diving well with both 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards.

For families planning summer activities, the reopening coincides with the start of seasonal programming, swim lessons, cabana rentals, and recreational swimming opportunities offered through the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
