Fall is starting to make its way into the market, but there is still plenty of late-summer goodness to enjoy. Join us today, Wednesday, September 16, from 2:30-7 PM at the State Street Farmers Market in downtown Carlsbad Village.
This week, keep an eye out for Lion’s Mane mushrooms from Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farms. With their shaggy appearance, meaty texture, and mild flavor often compared to crab or lobster, they are a fun way to switch up dinner. Sauté them until golden, roast them, or add them to pasta, soups, and risottos.
While you’re here, you’ll find plenty more to fill your market bags, including cantaloupe, eggplant, sweet peppers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, fresh greens, and microgreens. Wild King Salmon and Northern Halibut are also on this week’s fresh catch, and if you’re ready for a little taste of fall, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and Pumpkin Pie Almond Milk have officially arrived.
Come hungry for Hawaiian comfort food or Texas-style barbecue, pick up something fresh for the week ahead, and enjoy your Wednesday afternoon in the Village.
We’ll see you today at State Street and Grand Avenue in the heart of Carlsbad Village. For today’s vendor list and market info, click here.
