Fraud – San Marcos Investigation Leads to Four Suspects in Custody.

On Friday, September 25, around 7:30 p.m., detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station conducted an undercover operation to recover property purchased using stolen credit cards.

During the operation, detectives learned the suspect was connected to a larger criminal investigation involving extensive fraud and identity theft.

Based on this information, detectives served a search warrant at a home in Escondido and recovered narcotics and a significant amount of stolen property, including stolen credit cards and personal information belonging to numerous victims.

Michael Lindsey (DOB: 01/06/1987), Collin Swarts (DOB: 05/20/1984), Dominic Fernandes (DOB: 05/21/1992) and Ashley Swikek (DOB: 01/18/1990) were taken into custody as a result of the search warrants and investigation.

Fernandes, Lindsey, Swarts, and Swikek were charged with possession of stolen property, identity theft, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and conspiracy. All four suspects were booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
