VISTA, Calif. — Vista will welcome its inaugural official Día de Muertos street festival on Sunday, October 11, transforming South Santa Fe Avenue into a gathering place for music, dance, Indigenous tradition, family activities, local food, community altars and small businesses. Produced by The Movement Brand in partnership with Ascend Coffee Roasters and backed by the City of Vista, the free, family-friendly event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The day’s main-stage program will feature performances by Vista High School Ballet Folklórico, Ballet Folklórico Tlaneci, Grupo Alegre – Danza de los Rubios, Nightshade Navarro and Los Salvajes, alongside DJs Moniloca and A-Boogie. The California Ajupeme Delegation will present a live demonstration of Ulamaliztli and Pok Ta Pok, the Mesoamerican ballgame also widely known as the Maya ballgame, sharing a living tradition with festivalgoers.

A separate festival highlight, Barrio Bash™, presented by Tampico and Bull & Bear Media, will bring live lucha libre wrestling by SoCal Pro Wrestling, with DJ Nombre and DJ Adikt-1. The activation will also feature live experiences from Día de Los Mulligans, COAT Design Remodel, Vista Athletic Club, Bimbo USA and Marinela USA.

Car enthusiasts can visit the Show & Shine hosted by Vista’s own Low for Show Car Club. Across the festival footprint, attendees can also experience community altars, free sugar-skull decorating while supplies last, family activities, local food and artisan vendors, cultural demonstrations and photo opportunities.

“This festival is a celebration of the people, traditions and creative spirit that make Vista and North County special,” said Adrian Mandujano, founder of The Movement Brand and festival producer. “We’re bringing together local performers, families, cultural organizations and small businesses to create a welcoming space where Día de Muertos can be experienced, shared and honored by the community.”

The festival will take place along South Santa Fe Avenue near Ascend Coffee Roasters and The Commons Venue. Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and follow posted parking and traffic signs in the surrounding area.
