Beginning in March, Housing and Neighborhood Services staff will begin preparing a FY 2019-2020 One-Year Action Plan for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This Action Plan will determine how Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) funds are spent in Escondido over the next year.
On March 7, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., staff will hold a Community Meeting in the Mitchell Room, City Hall, 201 N Broadway. This meeting is open to the public, and no pre-registration is required. Staff will share information about the process and history of the Action Plan, the City’s current priorities, and collect public comments regarding community needs. Staff will also discuss the process for determining CDBG projects, public services, and neighborhood revitalization initiatives.
Public participation is highly encouraged. The information from this meeting will assist staff in preparing for the Escondido City Council’s Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Escondido City Hall, 201 North Broadway where Council will review and reaffirm, or make changes to, the community development priorities adopted in the FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan.
Additional information about Housing and Neighborhood Services activities will be posted on the City’s website at https://www.escondido.org/neighborhood-services.aspx.
