The Oceanwavers Square Dance Club has moved to a new home, the New Community Church gym at 165 Eucalyptus Ave. in Vista. Those interested in finding out just how much fun we have, can come by on Mondays, Sept. 11th, 18th and 25th to test the waters. We start each of those days learning the basic steps, progressing as quickly as the class can. Each week after that, we learn more difficult steps, progressing into the intricate maneuvers that you see at demonstrations of square dancing. Our music ranges from “Phantom of the Opera” to “Cowboy Boogie” with Beach Boys, Gospel, Carols and Swing in-between.
Come to meet our new Caller, Steve Woodard. His background is impressive; his experience vast. A new home, a new Caller, a new beginning; ‘square up and dance’.
Square dancers come in all sizes, shapes and persuasions. If you are worried about “fitting in”, don’t be; knowing your right hand from your left, being able to walk forward and listening to the caller’s instructions are the only requirements.
So if you are free on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, come to the New Community Church gym at 165 Eucalyptus Ave; we offer you fun, laughter, friendship, aerobic exercise, AND FUN!
