Vista’s Big Give is a combined effort between the Vista Unified School District and North County community to grant the wishes of local Wish Kids through Make A Wish San Diego. In its tenth year, Vista’s Big Give has become a highly anticipated event! This year, Vista’s Big Give has adopted two local Wish Kids: Roczen, 5 years old from Oceanside and Sara, 17 years old from Vista. Eighth grade students at Vista Magnet Middle School have been working tirelessly to plan and execute fundraising events in order to grant their wishes and bring awareness to Make A Wish. This experience has helped connect their classroom learning with the real world, as well as helping others – a key feature of the International Baccalaureate program they are in.

The Pancake Breakfast will be hosted in partnership with the American Legion Post 365, which has provided another great connection between school and community

Students have done all the planning, marketing, preparations and will be servers, cashiers and other various jobs at the event. The Pancake Breakfast is open to the public and will be hosted at the American Legion at 1234 S Santa Fe, Vista. It will be on February 1st from 8:00am to 12:00pm welcoming guests anytime in the window for only $5! This includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice. There will also be raffle prizes, a silent auction and entertainment.
