Park Construction Project
Located at 530 Grapevine Road, Bub Williamson Park is undergoing a comprehensive park upgrade to expand the park’s use for the community. This project is being partially financed with Community Development Block Grant funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The construction improvements include a children’s playground, picnic areas with shade sails, remodeled restrooms, and a loop trail with fitness stations. New drought tolerant landscaping, irrigation, signage, fencing and public art will also be included. Tables, benches, water fountains and other park furnishings will be installed in the northern passive nature area and the existing amphitheater will be repurposed. The park facilities will be upgraded to meet current Americans with Disability Act standards and will include new sidewalks.
Project Update
Due to the extent of the work, the park and restroom building will be closed and temporary fencing will surround the construction zone until construction is completed. Please take this opportunity to explore other parks within the City.
