On September 29, 2020, at approximately 12:51 a.m., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Marcos Station Traffic Division, responded to a report of a beige Toyota Tundra pickup truck which ran off the roadway while traveling eastbound in the vicinity of the 1500 Block of W. San Marcos Blvd, in the city of San Marcos.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was traveling eastbound when it exited the south side of W. San Marcos Blvd. inducing the vehicle into a rollover. The unseat belted 28-year-old adult male driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, sustained serious yet nonlife-threatening injuries. The seat belted 21-year-old adult male passenger sustained minor lacerations as a result of the collision. Both occupants were transported to Palomar Medical Center for additional medical treatment.
Alcohol and/or drugs appear to be a factor in the collision. The San Diego Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team
(STAR) is assisting the San Marcos Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
