Celebrate the Season with Fall Decorating Contests

MainStreet Oceanside is partnering with two organizations for fall decorating contests celebrating upcoming festivities.

The Second Annual Scarecrow Contest is a collaboration with the Oceanside Coastal Neighborhood Association (OCNA).

“Our neighborhood organization had so much fun with last year’s contest! We decided to do it again this year and expand the contest to businesses with MainStreet Oceanside’s support,” stated OCNA member Claudia Troisi.

The program encourages all residents and businesses to participate and have fun during these trying times!

The first Dia de los Muertos Decorating Contest is partnered with the Friends of Oceanside Dia de los Muertos (FOODDLM).

“This would have been our 20th Anniversary for the Dia de los Muertos Festival, which had to be canceled due to the pandemic,” stated Cathy Nykiel, FOODDLM Board President.

“We are thrilled to partner with MainStreet Oceanside to celebrate a deep cultural experience in downtown.”

Businesses and residents are encouraged to enter one or both contests. There is no fee to enter; however, entries must be registered for judging and to be eligible to win prizes.

Schedule of events:
October 1-19: Registration is open and FREE
October 20-November 2: Decorations up for viewing by judges and public
October 27-28: Judging for both contests

Prizes will be given for each contest in two categories:
Businesses: First Place $250, Second Place $150, Third Place $75
Residents: First Place $100 Gift Card and Gift Basket, Second Place $75 Gift Card, Third Place $50 Gift Card
