Tri-City Medical Center is working collaboratively with all regional hospitals, various government entities, and the hospital association to ensure adequate capacity for all patients needing care. Capacity includes bed availability, personal protective equipment, and staffing, among other considerations. Staffing continues to be challenging for all hospitals across the country as the numbers of hospitalized COVID positive patients has increased in recent weeks.
Tri-City currently has 37 COVID positive patients in the medical center and is adequately resourced for our current volumes. Additionally, it’s important to note that care should not be delayed for both COVID and non-COVID related medical emergencies. Our emergency department is open and safe for all patients as we follow well established protocols to ensure the safety of COVID positive and non-COVID patients alike.
