Held every Summer for over two decades, the Carlsbad Village Association’s Art in the Village one-day, open-air art show, that features over one hundred fine artists from all over the region, was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. After such a long and celebrated run, it was painful to see our artists without the ability to attend events to display and sell their work. The art community was as hard hit as any during 2020.

On Sunday, June 27th, the Carlsbad Village Association is looking forward to hosting Art in the Village once again and welcoming back our amazing fine artists. However, applications are also currently being accepted in one of the many categories including Clay/Ceramics; Digital Art; Drawing; Fiber; Glass; Jewelry; Metal; Mixed Media; Painting; Photography; Printmaking; Sculpture; Woodworking, and more. This juried event is unique to the North County Coastal area and attracts fine artists both locally and regionally.

In the meantime, you can still visit our art community; they need your support now more than ever. The Carlsbad Village Association website has hosted the artwork from some of our 2020 artists in a Virtual Art Gallery to help you connect with them and experience their artwork while we were unable to gather in person. Each listing also contains contact information for their website and social media, where you can shop online. Please enjoy the exceptional artwork in the gallery and plan to see them in person at Art in the Village in 2021.

Applications are currently being accepted. If you are an artist interested in exhibiting at Art in the Village, or know an artist, the full prospectus and application can be found at www.zapplication.org. We look forward to seeing our returning and new artists this summer at Art in the Village on June 27th.
