On July 25, Escondido Fire sent a crew of four firefighters to replace the crew on our OES brush engine. That engine had been assigned to the Bootleg Fire in Oregon and is currently assisting the Dixie Fire in Butte County. The relieved crew had been deployed
for 14 days and returned home safety. The replacement crew will staff the OES brush engine as it is still assigned to a strike team on the Dixie Fire. In addition, Battalion Chief Jeff Sargis was deployed as the replacement Strike Team Leader commanding the five engines crews.
