North County Resident Represents San Marcos in the Miss California USA Competition

Isabel Amayrani Rhodes has been selected to represent San Marcos at the Miss California USA®/Miss California Teen USA® Competition as Miss San Marcos USA. Her selection was based on her academic and professional interests, involvement in her community, her passion for the pursuit of excellence and her interest in empowering other young women to follow in her footsteps.

Miss San Marcos USA is a CSU San Marcos and Alpha Xi Delta sorority alumna. Her chosen platform is mental health awareness. She has a personal connection to mental illness. She shares her story to motivate others who also struggle with their diagnosis. During her time at CSUSM she became certified in Mental Health First Aid. She is now a crisis counselor through Crisis Text Line. As an American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Field Advocate, she is speaking out for suicide prevention and for legislation and policy change. Miss San Marcos USA will be attending the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) convention June 2021 to continue educating herself on ways to be an advocate. The next step in her career is to attend law school. After completing her legal education, she plans on becoming a sex crimes prosecutor. Through working for her mentors, the local mother-daughter attorneys at Fischer & Ritchey, she gained the skills she applies in her new case manager position at a litigation law firm. Through seeing her mentors actively participate in San Marcos non-profits, including one of their own, Rhodes aspires to one day establish a non-profit organization for mental health treatment assistance.

Girlbossing Inc., as the California USA Organization, will produce and conduct the Golden State’s oldest and most celebrated competition this coming September 2021 to qualify two young ladies from California to advance to either Miss Teen USA or Miss USA and ultimately Miss Universe.
