Oceanside, CA (October 2021) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has received a $9,750 grant from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to provide their STREAMing Ahead program to girls ages 5 to 18. Through this grant, BGCO will provide girls with exciting, hands-on learning opportunities in the areas of Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM). Program components will be industry driven and focus on career exploration.
Funding will support educational program equipment, supplies and guest speakers. AAUW’s support will be instrumental in providing girls, who have been historically underrepresented in STREAM fields, with the opportunity to explore STREAM careers in a safe and flexible learning environment.
“We are so thankful for AAUW’s support,” said Jodi Diamond, CEO. “The STREAMing Ahead program is a critical tool in helping our girls plan for bright futures in a post-pandemic world. AAUW’s support will help reignite their curiosity and love for learning,” said Jodi Diamond, CEO.
