Armed Robbery
On November 8, officers responded to a call regarding an armed robbery. The victim said that he was sitting in his car getting ready to go to work when an unknown suspect opened his door, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded money.
Magnolia Homicide
On November 9, Escondido Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call of a stabbing that occurred on Magnolia Avenue. Based on witness statements and evidence located at the scene, Juan Reynoso was looking for a family member who he believed to have lived somewhere in the area. He knocked on a random door to see if the family member was inside the house. The occupant of the residence answered the door and spoke with Reynoso. Reynoso appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was acting disorderly in the front yard and a fistfight ensued. Luis Ledesma, a 21-year-old Escondido resident, saw his brother in a fight with an unknown person in the front yard. Ledesma retrieved a knife, went outside, and stabbed Reynoso in the chest. Ledesma was arrested at the scene for the murder of Juan Reynoso. Carjacking Turned Collision
On November 11, two males carjacked a person at knife point in Oceanside and stole a Subaru Forester. Later in the evening, an unrelated reporting party called 9-1-1 to report that the driver of the Subaru was swerving and possibly under the influence of alcohol. While on the phone with Escondido Police Dispatch, the reporting party witnessed the Subaru run a red light on Fig Street and Valley Parkway and collide with a Toyota pick-up-truck. The driver of the Toyota was ejected from his vehicle. After the Subaru collided with the truck, the Subaru collided into Frida’s Tacos Restaurant. The stolen Subaru had six people in the vehicle. There were two adult males, two adult females, and two young children. The two females were transported to the hospital and the two children were transported to Rady Children’s Hospital. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Traffic Investigator, Adan Martinez, at 760- 839-4465.
