The Carlsbad Village Association is sponsoring its 2nd Annual “Follow Your Heart” Treasure hunt that will take place in the heart of beautiful Carlsbad Village. On Saturday and Sunday, February, 12th and 13th, eager participants will be on the lookout for unique hand blown glass hearts, courtesy of Barrio Glassworks, a public glassblowing studio and retail gallery.
“We brought this event back because it was an overwhelming success in 2021,”
said Christine Davis, Executive Director. “People of all ages, couples, and families thoroughly enjoyed being on the hunt for one-of-a-kind treasures and finding them hidden in plain sight.”
Over the two day period fifty glass hearts will be hidden at some of the most iconic and frequently visited locations in downtown Carlsbad. If participants find a heart, it is theirs to keep.
Treasure Hunt Rules:
● The hunt starts at 10:00am on the morning of Saturday, February,12th and runs through 4:00pm on Sunday, February, 13th.
● Hearts will be hidden in plain sight; there’s no need to look too hard; no map is required.
● Hearts will be hidden throughout the day over a two day period.
● Iconic locations might include historic sites where participants can read and learn about local Carlsbad history; near some of downtown Carlsbad murals; or some common areas where people might sit for a while and relax; or maybe go for a walk on the rail trail.
● One heart per person.
When participants find a glass heart, they can visit the CVA Treasure Hunt event page to register their treasure by entering the three-digit engraved number on the bottom of the heart. The registration submission will enter them into a drawing for a private “glass blowing experience” at Barrio Glassworks.
The drawing will take place on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February, 14th and the winner will be announced on the Carlsbad Village Association website and on its Instagram and Facebook pages. The winner will also be announced in the CVA eNewsletter on Feb.16th as well.
