Spending locally is not only convenient for residents; San Marcos businesses benefit too.
Shop and dine local this holiday season
With the holiday season upon us, the City of San Marcos reminds residents to stay close to home when shopping and dining. Spending locally is not only convenient for residents; San Marcos businesses benefit too. Sales fortify the strength of local businesses, save shoppers gas, and enhance the local economy.
“Shopping and dining locally is a win-win-win for our community,” said Economic Development Manager Tess Radmill.
When transactions are made locally, sales tax revenue is generated to support city services such as law enforcement, fire protection, parks and recreation, and street maintenance. When dollars are spent locally, residents are directly contributing to their community’s quality of life.
“When residents shop locally, it saves time and resources, helps build the backbone of our local economy, and ensures that the city continues to deliver top-notch programs, projects and services to its residents,” said Radmill.
