Peter Kuchinsky II, Announces his Candidacy for the Vista Irrigation District, Division 3 Board Seat

Peter Kuchinsky II, has announced his candidacy for the Vista Irrigation District, Division 3 Board seat. Division 3 encompasses central and Northeast Vista and unincorporated areas of the County of San Diego. The election will be held on November 8, 2022. Kuchinsky currently fills the seat that became vacant when Director Paul Dorey passed away earlier in 2022. He was unanimously appointed by the Board. He brings over 18 years’ experience working with water agencies on issues concerning risk exposure, liability, property, and worker safety. Kuchinsky serves as Lead Risk Advisor with the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority, a public agency that provides insurance coverage to water agencies throughout the state. He and his wife have been Vista residents for the past 40 years, raising four children here.

Peter believes water is our most critical resource, with substantial supply, cost, drought and conservation high on his list of concerns. He stands committed to ensuring the safety and reliability of Vista Irrigation District’s system and water supply, not only today, but for tomorrow, without unnecessary costs or rate increases.

Kuchinsky joins president Marty Miller (Division 1), Richard Vásquez (Division 2), Patrick Sanchez (Division 4), and Jo MacKenzie (Division 5) to form the five‑member Vista Irrigation District board. As a Board member, and through his background and experience wants to continue the tradition of vision, long-term planning and effective leadership at Vista Irrigation District. His goal for Division 3 and our entire community is for responsible management of our water quality, supply, and system, and to solve future challenges based on community input for cost effective and long-term solutions.
