Harbor Dredging to Occur April – May

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to begin mobilizing on April 3 for the annual dredge of the Oceanside Harbor inlet. The dredge is expected to begin about April 12, 2023. They plan to wrap up operations by Memorial Day weekend, but there may be times when dredging is paused due to high waves or equipment issues, which can result in delays. This year, they estimate about 500,000 cubic yards of sand will be placed on Oceanside beaches, which is much more than usual. Please use caution in and around the beach area while the project is underway.
