Project background
The city is working on making streets inviting for everyone, whether walking, biking or driving. Tyler Street, in the city’s historic Village and Barrio community, is one of the locations where the city is planning improvements to accommodate all forms of travel and increase connectivity to trails.
Based on previous input, the city is studying three options for Tyler Street:
Option A –
Maintain two-way traffic
Remove curbs and add decorative paving to create a “shared space” for cars and bikes
Add decorative paving or colored concrete for pedestrians on both sides
Maintain parallel parking
Option B –
Reduce vehicle traffic to one-way northbound
Add bike lanes in each direction
Maintain parallel parking
Option C –
Maintain two-way traffic
Add sidewalks on both sides of the street
Move parallel parking from the east side to the west side of Tyler Street
We’d like to get your input to make sure that changes to Tyler Street meet the needs and priorities of people of all ages and abilities who live, walk, bike or drive in the area.
