Tri-City Hospital Foundation Corporate Council Sponsors Launch Event for Donors

On May 18th the Tri-City Hospital Foundation Corporate Council sponsored a meet and greet launch event for the Tri-City Hospital Foundation members, hospital executives, Foundation Board trustees, District Board members, business partners, local Chamber of Commerce members, county representatives and potential donors. The event was held at Sub-Limit Lounge, a membership-based co-working lounge and private space event located in Carlsbad.

Nearly 100 guests took part in the three-hour event as they socialized, networked and heard from Jennifer Paroly, President of Tri-City Hospital Foundation and Steve Harrington, Director Corporate Council. Paroly has been involved with the Foundation since 2008, serving on the Board since 2013 and President since 2018. She was selected by the San Diego Business Journal as one of San Diego’s 50 Most Influential Women over 50. In a short welcome to the event, Jennifer and Steve addressed those in attendance, pointing out many of the Foundations financial successes in assisting Tri-City Medical Center in making the hospital a state-of-the-art facility. Jennifer and Steve told the group that the foundation was close to raising the $4.8 million needed to finance the remodel of the Emergency Room and ready to begin raising the $400,000 needed to purchase an Endobronchial ultra-sound machine to assist in early detection of lung cancer. Steve felt marketing efforts like the one today was a great way to show people how valuable supporting Tri-City Medical Center is to the healthcare of the surrounding communities.

Visiting with many of the people attending the event, all felt the Foundation is an integral and crucial part of Tri-City Medical Center’s core group that assists with helping finance a variety of needs necessary to keep the hospital at the center of medical progression in the changing world of medicine. Chairman of the Healthcare District Board Rocky Chavez, Senior Director of Business Development and Operations Jeremy Raimo and CEO of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Bret Schanzenbach all felt the Corporate Council’s ability to bring businesses to the forefront of helping finance various projects benefitting the community. Numerous organizations that work in some way with Tri-City Medical Center were represented at the launch, such as Agostino Scalercio from PACE Family Health Centers of San Diego and Cathy Gibson from Hospice of the North Coast.

For over sixty years the Foundation has utilized the support of generous donors, funded millions of dollars in programs, services, and capital needs for Tri-City Medical Center helping to advance health care in the community. The Foundation Corporate Council seeks business leaders and individuals to support the hospital through membership and financial support for projects. Key Partners with the Foundation include the David C. Copley Foundation, The Conrad Prebys Foundation, Massoumi Dental Corporation, SFEIR Architects and McGriff Insurance Services. Some of the $50 million dollars in funded projects included the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, Siegel Family Surgical Suites, The Beatrice Riggs French Women’s Centre, the Edgart Jo Anne Jones Women’s Diagnostic Center, the Nic View: The NICU Camera System, state-of-the-art Digital Mammography and recently the Emergency Department redesign.

The Corporate Council of the Tri-City Hospital Foundations main focus is to bring individuals together who can make an impact in the community with collaboration and support to promote health and wellness. Notable members include McGriff Insurance Services – Mike Lutosky, Sr. Vice President; New Haven – Doreen Quinn, CEO of New Haven Youth & Family Service; Children Primary Dental – Hoss Said, Managing Director; Colleen O’Harra Estate Planning Attorney; SFEIR Architects, Joseph Sfeir, Owner and President; and Harrington Marketing – Tim Harrington, Owner. Tim Harrington said he was ecstatic to see people visiting with one another and spending their evening with us. He said he enjoys being the behind-the-scenes person for events like this.

Other key individuals with the Foundation include the President Jennifer Paroly along with Sarah Slaughter and Deborah Trusty. The Foundation Board officers consists of Rita Geldert, George Brown, Joseph Sfeir and Steve Harrington and Board members Barbara Lee and Paula Lemkuil. The Tri-City Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees includes Colleen O’Hara, Robbie Calderon-Hass, Dr. Victor Souza, Dr. Hamid Movahhedian, Hoss Said, Beverly Randolph, Dawn Koutsky, Lylene Baker, Robert Betz, Sandee Carter and Clay Gardner.

There are a variety of ways businesses, corporations and individuals can donate to the Tri-City Hospital Foundation. Donations can be made on their web site at www.tricityhospitalfoundation.org where donations can be a one-time donation or set-up for a specific amount to be donated each month. Checks can also be mailed directly to the Tri-City Hospital Foundation at 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, 92056. There is also a Guardian Angel Program where donations can be made in honor of a Tri-City Medical Center employee, caregiver, physician, nurse, volunteer or anyone that has gone above and beyond in taking care of you or a loved one.
