Oceanside High School Junior Bryce Sanford is making waves in the world of craftsmanship with his award-winning creation. His masterpiece, a meticulously crafted record player cabinet, recently took the top spot in not one but two prestigious competitions. This summer, the cabinet secured first place at a national competition in Las Vegas and also emerged victorious at the Del Mar Fair, earning Bryce a total of $1,300 in prize money. It’s an exceptional achievement that has left the OHS community beaming with pride.

Bryce’s journey to success began in the school’s woodshop last year, where he spent two months bringing his vision to life. He credits his woodshop teacher, Mr. Zubieta, for guiding him through the process and helping him hone his skills. When asked about his future plans, Bryce mentioned his interest in pursuing a career in engineering or architecture. However, his passion for crafting furniture remains strong, and he believes it could be a viable career option down the road. The OHS community is excited to see where Bryce’s talent and determination will take him, and we look forward to witnessing more of his exceptional creations in the future.
