On Sept 23rd from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I Love A Clean San Diego, in collaboration with the City of Escondido, will be conducting litter removal within the creek trail, west of Harmony Grove Road. This effort is a part of the 39th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day, a countywide effort to keep our oceans and waterways clean. This cleanup will include community volunteers and members of Public Works, Environmental Services, and the Escondido Police Department. The cleanup comes at an opportune moment as the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit of the Escondido Police Department has recently opened a community project to address public safety concerns regarding quality-of-life issues and criminal activity occurring at the location. In addition, the Citracado Extension Project is being built, which will add future creek trail paths for public use.
