Vista Lions Club Muscles on Main St. Trunk or Treat Draws Hundreds

By TR Robertson Photos by Brian Robertson
Hundreds of people walked up and down Main St. in the Vista Village Shopping Center between Swami’s and Starbucks on Sunday, many dressed for Halloween, enjoying a sunny day and looking at the amazing collection of cars in the Muscles on Main St. Trunk or Treat Car Show. This is the third year the Pride of Vista Lions Club has sponsored this event. The Pride of Vista Lions Club has been active in Vista events for the past 32 years, since 1992. Sixty-eight cars were entered in the car show as they vied for trophies that were handed out later in the day. Raffles and a 50/50 drawing were available with a number of gift baskets as prizes. There was a cupcake walk for children and a scavenger hunt. While visitors wandered the streets a DJ played music to entertain the crowd. Each of the cars on display offered a selection of candy for kids of all ages. Peggy the Pig wandered the street with her owner and was the subject of numerous picture opportunities for those attending. Car shows are popular events in Vista and draw big crowds as people look at the amazing paint jobs, detail, and work the car owners have put into cars of all models and years.
