Last Friday evening, Oct. 27, 2023, in Historic Downtown Vista the streets were full of families enjoying Vista’s Fright Night, as you will be able to see and hear in the video with the excitement of all the kids. The success of the night was a cooperation between Discover Vista, BackFence Society, the City of Vista, Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, Vista Fire Fighters and Vista Sheriff Deputies. The event was funded by the BID fees and the City.
The Haunted House, located at Twice On Main Street had a line of families all the way down the street to the Village Pub. Across the street at the Gazebo was a fright night tunnel. The City gave away 2,781 pieces of candy. This does not include the amount of candy given out by the Sheriff’s Deputies and the Vista Fire Department. Many merchants gave away candy also. There was a costume contest held at Handels Ice Cream on Main Street and a dog costume contest held at Viva La Pooch Pet Salon on Citrus. Also, the adult costume contest was held at InZane Brewing Co. on Main Street. All involved should be proud of the safe environment they created for the residents of Vista.
