SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team hosts a nonconference game on Tuesday, March 20 before heading north to compete in the Tournament of Champions in Turlock. The CSUSM men’s golf team is competing in the California Baptist Lancer Golf Joust on Monday and Tuesday while the Cougar track & field teams take part in the San Diego State Aztec Invitational this weekend. CSUSM baseball team faces Cal State East Bay in a four-game series starting on Friday in Hayward.

BIOLA •CSUSM is 19-12 all-time against the Eagles.
•The Cougars took the series opener over Biola, 1-0, before dropping the final three in 2015.
•The Eagles were swept by Azusa Pacific last Friday by scores of 4-1 and 4-0
•Biola was selected to finish sixth in the 2018 PacWest Conference Softball preseason coaches’ poll.

CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars are in the middle of playing their CCAA series against Cal State Monterey Bay at the moment.
•Entering today’s games, freshmen Raven LeClair and Jaqlyn Newhouser lead the CSUSM offense with .345 and .344 batting averages, respectively.
•In the 2018 CCAA softball preseason poll, the Cougars were picked to finish 10th.

CAL STATE EAST BAY •CSUSM is 4-2 all-time against the Pioneers.
•Last season, the Cougars collected a 3-1 series victory over the Pioneers. CSUSM recorded three consecutive victories (4-1, 8-7, 7-2) after dropping the series opener, 3-2.
•Adam Hollar and Jacob Elder are ranked second and fourth in the CCAA in hit by pitches with 11 and nine, respectively.
•As a team, the Seawolves rank third in the CCAA in batting (.294 avg.) and 10th in pitching (5.68 ERA).

CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars split the series with the Sonoma State Seawolves last weekend, taking the nightcaps in both Friday and Sunday doubleheaders.
•Junior Cabot Van Til went 8-for-15 (.533) with a double and home run while driving in two runs and plating four times. Also having an outstanding performance at the plate was junior Marcus Wilhite who went 7-for-15 (.467) a double, five runs and three RBIs.
•Wilhite ranks second in the CCAA in doubles (8) and fifth in RBIs (19).
•As a team, CSUSM ranks fourth in batting (.288) and ninth in pitching (5.61 ERA) in the CCAA.
