There is so much quality public art in Downtown Escondido, because Art Lives Here!
The New York Times knows about our art, and told the world in an article on September 26, last year. Here’s your chance to explore and find some of Downtown Escondido’s quality public art for yourself.
On October 26, 2024- MAGEC is sponsoring a free Art Scavenger Hunt! MAGEC, stands for Museums and Art Growing Escondido Culture.
This event is free to the public, all ages welcome, and there will be dozens of prizes awarded among those correctly completing the hunt.
To participate, stop by the Escondido Art Association (EAA), located at 121 W Grand Ave to pick up your entry map. Make sure to have a phone handy. You’ll scan a QR code to know what you’re looking for. The EAA will give you a written map to mark where you’ll find the art.
Swing by the EAA with your completed map, and the pictures you take, and win prizes from local businesses. It’s just that easy!
Some of the businesses on your search route will also have discounts available the day of the search.
The hunt takes about an hour, but give yourself time to explore your local merchants as well. The EAA will be open from 11am to 5pm and they will have folks on hand to help with any details.
If you finish before 2pm they can give you the scoop on another fun event at the North County Mall from 2pm to 5pm.
Get out there and good hunting!
