OCEANSIDE, Calif., December 1, 2024 – The San Diego Clippers (5-3) lose to the Stockton Kings (6-2), 125 to 106 on Sunday night.
The Stockton Kings came out hot from beyond the arc, fueled by Antonie Davis’s perfect five-for-five shooting from three-point range to give them a double-digit lead over San Diego, 35-22. The Clippers responded with tenacious defense, forcing 10 turnovers and closing the quarter on a 13-2 run to cut the King’s lead to three points at halftime, 54-57. Elijah Harkless led the Clippers with 11 points and 3 steals in the first half of play. Antoine Davis led the King’s with 15 points. A back-and-forth third quarter ended with the Stockton Kings extending their lead to 8 points, thanks to Mason Jones’ 8 points, which helped counter RayJ Dennis’ 11 points. The San Diego Clippers could not contain Antonie Davis and Drew Timme as the two combined for 25 points to give the King’s a decisive win.
The San Diego Clippers were led by led by Trentyn Flowers season high 22 points and nine rebounds. RayJ Dennis followed with 20 points, making four of seven three points attempts. The Clippers looked to push the pace, outscoring the Kings 23-6 in the fastbreak, and forced 21 turnovers.
The Stockton Kings were led by Antonie Davis who had 33 points off the bench and made 9 of14 from three-point range. Mason Jones followed with 23 points and 6 assists while Drew Timme had 18 points and 9 rebounds. Three-point shooting led the Kings to their victory, shooting 50% from beyond the arc, 20-40 compared to the Clippers’ 33%, 12-36. The Stockton Kings took advantage of San Diego Clippers’ mistakes, outscoring them 31-12 off turnovers.
