Carlsbad City Library cardholders now have access to more than nine million additional titles, thanks to LINK+, a free service that allows patrons to borrow books not available in the Carlsbad Library system.
Patrons can use their Carlsbad City Library card to order and check out books, movies and music from libraries like San Francisco Public Library, Academy of Art University, Loyola Marymount University, San Diego Public Library and over 70 participating locations throughout California and Nevada.
Use LINK+ to electronically request an item not available at Carlsbad City Library, and it will be delivered to your preferred library location and held for you to check out.
Here’s how it works:
• Search the LINK+ catalog and find the title you are not able to find at Carlsbad City Library.
• If the item status is “AVAILABLE,” click “Request it,” then select “Carlsbad City Library” from the drop-down menu and click “Submit.”
• Enter your name, library card number, select your preferred location from the drop-down menu, and click “Submit.”
• If the item is available, you will see the message, “Your request was successful.”
• The library will notify you via email when your item is ready for pick up.
