Palomar College Governing Board Elects Officers for 2025

SAN MARCOS, CA (December 18, 2024) – The Palomar College Governing Board held its annual election of officers during an organizational meeting on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Jacqueline Kaiser, who represents trustee Area 5, was elected as the new Board President. Area 4
Trustee Dr. Holly Hamilton-Bleakley will serve as the Board Vice President and Trustee Yvette Marie Acosta of Area 2 was elected as Board Secretary. Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey, Superintendent/President of Palomar College, was elected Secretary to the Board.

The Governing Board also voted to continue its current meeting schedule on the second and fourth
Tuesdays of every month: closed session at 4 p.m. followed by open session at 5 p.m.

“As we continue our focus on the success of our students, while increasing enrollment, and maintaining fiscal stability, we are in good hands with trustees that prioritize the long term success of the District,” said Dr. Rivera-Lacey. “It is exciting to start 2025 with our newly elected trustees, who join re-elected trustee Roberto Rodriguez and trustee Dr. Judy Patacsil, to achieve the 2024-25
Board Goals.”
