In 2019, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to award Interfaith a $6,000,000 capital grant to expand our proven effective Recuperative Care program and create a Graduate Lodging program. Interfaith leveraged these County funds with local community donations to purchase a former 77-room motel located across the street from our Escondido headquarters. With construction currently underway, we are transforming the former motel into a place of healing and restoration for our local neighbors working to overcome homelessness and rebuild their lives.
The new Abraham and Lillian Turk Recuperative Care Center will become the home of the Interfaith Post-Hospitalization Recuperative Care program and the new Interfaith Graduate Temporary Lodging program.
