“California Cannabis Corridor”

0

NC DAILY STAR accompanied City of Vista Council Member Joe Green as he wrapped up filming of a new documentary being produced in Vista titled “The California Cannabis Corridor”. This documentary features Green as he takes viewers through 5 of Vistas Legal Cannabis Dispensaries. The film will highlight the benefits of cannabis: medically, fiscally, recreationally, & socially. Green speaks with dispensary owners, bud tenders, directors of compliance, and customers that peel back the curtain on the cannabis industry. Green said,

Green said, “My goal with this documentary is to dispel the stigma that these are criminal enterprises that are bad for communities and children”.

On the contrary, these dispensaries are beautiful establishments immaculately maintained inside and out with a light and bright ambiance, on site security, knowledgeable staff and vast product selection for all levels and types of cannabis consumption. Additionally, these dispensaries are giving back to the community and producing revenue for our city. This revenue is being used for additional law enforcement, park rangers, community lighting, youth cannabis prevention programs, and other council and city projects we may not be able to accomplish without these businesses.

The documentary will be released on 4/15/2023 and tickets will go on sale for Premier Night on 3/31/2023.

The fast-paced 40-minute film captures Green’s signature passionate personality as he interviews dispensary operators from Off The Charts, Tradecraft Farms, Coastal Cannabis, Wellgreens and Hello Cannabis.

Cannabis Corridor is produced in collaboration with A Different Day Radio, Star Fox Media and HPC.Media under the GuideMe.Tours collaborative. GuideMe.Tours produces video and audio podcast tours, including Vista’s Pioneer Beer Trail and Visiting Downtown Vista.

Fixing the 78 Freeway

0

SUPERVISOR JIM DESMOND
You probably know by now, but last week a significant sinkhole developed on State Route 78, which has caused havoc for commuters in North County. The closure began on March 17th and has now been extended at least through the rest of the week. While thousands of San Diegans have been affected, SANDAG continues to disregard the voters’ wishes and fund SR-78.

In 2004, San Diegans approved a half-cent sales tax that promised upgrades to State Route 78 in North County. Despite paying this tax until 2048, SANDAG has yet to make the upgrades, instead opting for less-used public transportation and mass transit projects.

This sinkhole is a stark reminder that SANDAG must maintain its promise to San Diegans and make SR-78 a priority, as it is vital to the safety of North County.

It is time for SANDAG to return to the table with a regional transportation plan that benefits everyone in San Diego County. Their top priority should be making SR-78 safer and reducing traffic for drivers. Additionally, they should not tax people out of their vehicles by charging them for every mile they drive.

Belching Beaver Brewery Adds Terpene-Focused Tropical Terps IPA To Core Lineup

0

Oceanside, Calif. – Oceanside’s Belching Beaver has added a core beer to its lineup called Tropical Terps IPA, a re-release of the brewery’s Dam Good Decade Terps IPA from its 10th anniversary celebration in October 2022. It is the company’s first core beer that uses terpenes, which are aromatic compounds naturally found in citrus fruits, pine trees, hops, and cannabis.

Tropical Terps IPA has a 6.6% alcohol-by-volume (ABV) and includes Simcoe, Mosaic, Strata, and Citra hops. Terpenes bring to the juicy IPA new flavors and aromas that are unattainable from hops alone, featuring tropical notes of melons, mango, guava, and pineapple. The terpenes used for the beer were not derived from cannabis.

“We received so many compliments last year from the initial batch of Brewmaster Troy Smith’s new brand that we decided to make it a part of our core,” said Co-Founder and CEO Tom Vogel.

“Troy and his team are always pushing the boundaries of beer and they love creating new and amazing styles like with Tropical Terps. He not only designed the beer, but the label as well. This really is a game changer. I am sure we will see more terpene-focused beers throughout the country in the years ahead.”

Tropical Terps IPA is available on draft and in six packs of 12-ounce cans at Belching Beaver’s four San Diego County locations: Oceanside Brewhouse, Vista’s Pub980 and Tavern & Grill, and North Park Tasting Room.

“We are not the first brewery to do this, though not many have tried,” Smith said. “Since beer has been around for thousands of years, we are always trying to push the limits of what defines a good beer. Showcasing something new and innovative is the goal, and I believe both hard-core and casual beer drinkers will enjoy our latest creation that has flavors they may have never tasted before.”

Belching Beaver beers are distributed to 12 states outside of California, including as far away as Wisconsin and Texas. Head of Production and Quality Manager Thomas Peters, who joined the brewery in 2013, oversees all beer production at the company’s Oceanside manufacturing facility and four brewery/retail locations.
