Oceanside, CA (April 2021)-Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has received a $10,000 grant from State Farm to support the STREAMing Ahead program. This grant will assist BGCO in providing at-risk youth with exciting, hands-on learning opportunities in the areas of Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Program components will focus on offsetting learning loss associated with the pandemic, while renewing youth’s love for learning.
Funding will support educational program supplies, electronic equipment needed for youth to participate in activities, ergonomic seating, personal protective equipment (PPE), and staffing. State Farm’s support will be instrumental in providing at-risk youth, who have been disproportionately affected by school closures during the pandemic, with exciting opportunities to explore the world of STREAM in a safe and flexible learning environment.
