Assemblywoman Laurie Davies
As your Assemblymember for the 74th District, I wanted to provide you with some updates on recent developments and important initiatives that are taking place in our community.

In alignment with our commitment to preserving and enhancing our natural environment, I have written a letter of support to the California State Lands Commission for the San Clemente Sand Replenishment project. This important initiative, a partnership between the City of San Clemente and the Army Corps of Engineers, aims to place 250,000 cubic yards of sand on our City beaches. By replenishing our beaches, we are not only safeguarding our coastline but also promoting tourism and recreational opportunities for our residents and visitors alike. I am honored to serve as the Vice Chair of the Veterans and Military Affairs committee, where we work diligently to address the unique needs and concerns of our brave service members and veterans. I am excited to announce that I have created a Military Advisory Board, comprising experienced veterans and military personnel, who will provide me with valuable insights and guidance. This month, we will be holding our inaugural meeting on base at Camp Pendleton. It will be a productive session where we will explore opportunities to enhance support for our service members, veterans, and their families.

This month I am happy to report that the Vista Community Clinic was awarded $37,712.50 for the final year of the Women’s Recovery Response Program. This program came out of one-time funding allocated by the Legislature to invest in women’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. I commend the Vista Community Clinic for their unwavering commitment to serving our community, and I am grateful for the Legislature’s support in recognizing the importance of investing in women’s economic recovery.

I am pleased to invite you to an upcoming Coffee Chat at Zebra House Coffee in San Clemente at 8a.m. on Friday, July 14. This will be a great opportunity for us to connect, discuss community issues, and exchange ideas. Please keep an eye out for the official announcement – and watch for more coffees scheduled throughout the District in coming months.

I hope you will read through my newsletter to see legislative highlights – with a record number of bills introduced this year, I am proud of my efforts to weigh in on bipartisan, common sense solutions for Californians and residents of South Orange County and North San Diego County.

With staff in both counties, please contact my office to help navigate State government, deliver services, support grant requests, and to share your opinion on legislation.
