The California Center for the Arts, Esondido welcomes the community to celebrate in person the 26th Annual Día de los Muertos celebration. It’s an opportunity to gather together as a community to honor and remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. The Center will stay true to tradition and have altars outside the Museum for anyone to use, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Dance performances by the Aztec dance group Xinachtli and Tierra Caliente Academy of Arts will perform outside. Craft tables, an outdoor DJ and an artisan craft market will also be part of the festivities. The community participatory altars are based on the original 1995 site-specific art installation conceived and designed by artist Eloy Tarcisio titled Muerte de Todos.
The Museum latest exhibition José Guadalupe Posada: Legendary Printmaker of Mexico will be open for FREE from 3pm – 7pm.
We’ll be posting more details about the Festival, so be sure to follow the Center on Facebook and/or Instagram.
