This past weekend the City hosted a very successful Arbor Day event where 93 volunteers came out to plant 100 trees. These trees include a variety of Crape Myrtle, Eastern Redbuds, and Little Gem Magnolias and can be found along E. Mission Ave in our “flower street” corridor.
This event was held in conjunction with the revamp of the Urban Forestry website and the City’s Free Tree Program; where residents can request a tree to be planted within a City right of way or adjacent to their property. Details on the program as well as general information on the Escondido Urban Forest can be found at https://www.escondido.org/urban-forestry
